Our favorite Dim Sum spot closed recently... so this was our first time. The food was great. The service was great. The tables were always clear and ready for the next round. The portions were big. We will definitely be coming back.

Our favorite Chinese restaurant in the Capital District. The food is beautiful and delicious. The waiters are friendly and attentive. Many gluten free options including dumplings to enjoy. This is a great restaurant to go to when you want to slow down, mindfully eat & drink tea while relaxing in a welcoming environment.

My Go-To for Authentic Chinese in the Albany Area: Ala Shanghai Let me tell you, if you're looking for truly delicious and authentic Chinese food in the Albany area, look no further than Ala Shanghai in Latham. This has easily become my absolute favorite spot. From the moment you walk in, you can tell they take pride in their food and service. The staff is always so welcoming and attentive, making every dining experience a pleasant one. And the food? Oh my goodness, the food! It's consistently outstanding. We have our go-to favorites, of course. The General Tso's Shrimp is a must-try – perfectly crispy shrimp coated in that classic, flavorful sauce. And the Eggplant in Garlic Sauce is just divine, so tender and packed with that savory, slightly spicy garlic goodness. But we've also ventured beyond our staples and been equally impressed. The Fish in Chili Sauce is a fantastic choice if you like a bit of heat and incredibly flavorful fish. And the Chicken in Black Bean Sauce is another winner, rich and savory with perfectly cooked chicken. Honestly, everything we've tried at Ala Shanghai has been top-notch. You can really taste the quality of the ingredients and the care they put into each dish. If you're craving authentic and delicious Chinese food with excellent service, do yourself a favor and check out Ala Shanghai. You won't be disappointed!

This Chinese restaurant serves delicious Chinese food. I visited it during my trip to enjoy some authentic Chinese cuisine. Although the surrounding environment wasn’t ideal at night, I was glad to be able to dine in and savor the delectable dishes.

I enjoyed a really delicious weekday lunch with my husband a few weeks ago. It was our first time here, and we were impressed immediately by the ambiance. The restaurant was full but not loud; everyone seemed to be eating, talking, and generally enjoying ourselves. This is definitely one of the nicer places to go for Chinese food. Eta: I have been back a few more times and it is great every time. Absolutely consistent! Adding more pics of more delicious food. We were seated quickly, and tea and water were brought out right away. The waiter answered our questions easily and we were surprised by how fast the food came out. All of it was delicious! The egg drop soup was some of the best I have had. I love that all of their chicken dishes use white meat; the General Tso came with the perfect amount of spice, too. We also shared the Beef Chow Fun. It was good, but I am excited to try other entrees next time. We didn't feel rushed at all. Despite the quick arrival of the food, there was no push for us to go. It was nice to enjoy our lunch and even chat with one of the nice young men who works there. I can't wait for another visit - highly recommend.

This place seemed to be renovated. The inside interior doesn’t look the same as any of the pics I have seen on Google. It’s a bit dimmer inside. And they played jazz music. Quiet dining experience with excellent service from all the staff! Good authentic food! Stir fry pea shoots with garlic was yummy but some of the pea shoots are old and chewy. Pan fried pork buns are juicy and delicious. Story fry rice cake with some sort of greens. The texture of the rice cakes were too mushy. Rice wine marinated chicken as appetizer was pretty good. But light on the flavor. Overall, it’s a B +on the food. Service was A!
